Where ZIGZAG’s lenses, filters and effects are made. Build an effect from pieces, watch it on a live face, press Publish, and it’s in the Zig camera for everyone.
How an effect works.
The same idea as a Snapchat Lens. The phone reads your face, the effect is drawn on top of the camera picture by the phone’s graphics chip, and it follows you as you move.
The front or back camera, full speed.
Where the head, eyes, nose and mouth are, and whether you smile, blink or open your mouth.
The pieces sit on your face, react to it, and pass behind your head.
Your moves travel with it, so they see the effect just as you did.
What you can make.
Everything in the Zig camera lives in Studio. Filters are built here from scratch. The rest can be renamed, reordered, scheduled, made PRO, held or put live.

- Pick a piece
Start from a bolt, a wing, a star, a horn or a zigzag, then drag its points into any shape.
- Put it on the face
Choose head, eyes, nose or mouth. It follows that part as you move, and goes behind the head when it should.
- Make it answer
Show it all the time, or only when the mouth opens, a smile starts or the eyes blink. Mirror it to both sides.
- See it live
A face in the preview moves, talks, smiles and blinks, drawn with the same 3D renderer as the app.
- Publish
Press Publish live. It’s in the Zig camera the next time anyone opens it. No app update, no waiting.
Every save is kept as a version, so any change can be undone. A filter is only pieces and colours, checked by the server, so nothing in it can run on anyone’s phone.

Does a new effect need an app update?
No. Phones pick up what’s live in Studio the next time the Zig camera opens.
Can an effect be PRO or time-limited?
Yes. Any effect can be PRO only, and can start and end on a date you choose.
Is it safe?
A filter is pieces, colours and positions. The server checks every one, and nothing in it can run code on a phone.
